 5 Reasons
You Should Wash Your Hair in Sections

Your kinky hair is constantly at war. Do you Battle against dryness, frizz, and  tangles? Do you find yourself detangling your freshly washed hair Forever?  Want to decrease breakage?  Washing your hair in sections  can be one of your best  wash day tools when going to battle against dry, kinky hair. Maintaining manageable 4c hair starts on wash day.  Weather you gather you hair in 4 puffs, or 4 twists, sectioning your hair for cleansing will make wash day a tangle free  breeze, Heres Why!

 5 Reasons
You Should Wash Your Hair in Sections

Control – Kinky hair is massive by nature. Just because your hair is big, dosnt mean washing it has to be a big production! You may feel overwhelmed having to tackle, then tame your coils. Taking you hair section by section allows you to control just how much product is applied, an dfor how long. Washing my kinks takes 2 handfuls of conditioner. I take my time working 1 handful into each side of my head. Weather the hair is sectioned &twisted, or just gathered out of the way, sectioning kinky hair is your best way to control the amount of product and, in general, makes the cleaning process easier. You slather  each  section then  move on to the next without too much hassle. There will be plenty of times when you will feel like your hair is out of control, Wash day shouldn’t be one of them.

Target areas – Because your hair is in sections, you have the opportunity to target trouble areas. Is the hair at your nape sparse? Is your hairline thinning? Is the hair at your crown breaking?  Highlights looking dull? With your hair in sections, tackling these needy areas is a snap! Perhaps the rest of your hair is balanced, but your leave out could use additional protein. Sectioning your hair allows you treat each area with exactly what it needs. Giving your hair what it needs consistently, is the key to length retention and healthy hair.

Tangle control – 4 c hair can shrink up to 90% of its original length. 4 c hair is so coily/kinky, it has a tendency to curl upon itself, causing tangles. Combine this with Manipulation damage from removing tangles. And you can easily have a damaged, tangled, wet mess on wash day, especially if you are transitioning. This combination  can reek havoc on your hair. Washing your hair in twisted sections is one of the best things a curly girl can do on wash day to save her strands, and reduce detangling time. Be sure to finger detangle before twisting the hair in sections for cleansing.

Kinks will Dry with less shrinkage-  Because the hair was stretched previous to washing, you will notice your hair is stretched more, compared to if you were to wash without sectioning and twisting. This method is so effective, even if you were to remove the twists before your hair completely dried, your hair would be notably stretched. If you allowed the twists to dry, then removed them, you will have a stretched tangle free chunky twist out. This style is super cute just the way it is, or a great base for a number of stretched styles.

More defined curls- in case you  needed another reason to section your hair before you wash it…. Washing your hair in twisted sections allows your kinks to clump together, giving you the most defined coils you have seen on naked hair. Allowing your freshly washing twist to dry before removing will provide you with a super defined twistout. Add a bit of gel and oil, and you will produce curl envy for days.
